Father and Son, enjoying the Military Vehicles!

Need some exercise? While visiting our friends in Nizhny Novgorod, we went by the Kremlin. (not the Kremlin in Moscow) This city was known as Gorky under the Soviet regime and was a closed city to foreigners. It is also the city where Alexander Solzhenitsen was placed under house arrest. Well, when Ruslan dropped us off at the bottom of the hill, I said to the kids, let's see how many steps there are. Before we could say, ready, set, go.... they were off. All of the kids started climbing and counting. Darla got up about 20 steps and said, "Oh, I lost count" and down she ran to the bottom to start counting again. It was quite the workout and always makes you feel better after the good exercise. We walked to the top and looked around at the beautiful Kremilin, overlooking the Volga River. The "game" was a wonderful diversion to the tired complaining that we are tempted to engage in. Inside the Kremilin there were beautiful flowers, memorials to the Russian soldiers as well as some old Military Vehicles. By the way, the unofficial count was 420 steps!

The Bible says that God is our strong tower and we can run to him, in times of trouble. Praise the Lord! He is much stronger than a fortress built by man for He is the Almighty One, All Powerful! Yet, He is personal and longs to have a personal relationship with us.

Caught on camera! Someone caught these 2 lovebirds in the act, in front of St. Basils Cathedral, in Moscow, Russia. We had a wonderful visit back to Russia to pick up our personal belongings, school materials, visit and minister to our dear friends of Russia. There was lots of happiness and sadness because we were able to see our dear friends but had to leave them as well. Sometimes we don't always understand God's leadership, but He keeps asking us to trust Him, not our own understanding. When I study about Abraham and how God told Him to go, but didn't tell Him where to go. God said, "Go and I will lead you!" Christ Himself, asked for "this cup" to be reomoved from Him, but continued by saying that He wanted God's will to be done and not His own desires and human feelings. We are God's servants, love slaves to God and whatever and wherever he calls us, we must obey. Even though we go through the human emotions of leaving friends and loved ones, the peace that God gives when we obey Him entirely, is something that can't be explained. We just pray that others will totally surrender their lives to Him! Slava Boga! (Praise God)

Getting Ready for Winter! Our wood was delivered, Friday and our neighbors came, Saturday and helped cut it up! They cut it with a saw mill type blade that hopefully you can see! By the way, the tractor is a wonderful German made tractor! I just had to add that since I have German roots! Each piece of wood comes in 1 Meter lengths. It must be cut up and then split, by hand, so that it will fit into the stove. The wood must also be brought inside the gated area so that it doesn't disappear. So Sat. as they cut the wood I began hauling. Thank the Lord, we were able to get all of the wood in by Sat. evening. Now all that remains is for it to be split. Anyone want to help? Thank the Lord that He gave us the Lord's Day! The first day of the week, giving God our firstfruits, where we not only rest but also where we worship Him.
Thank you for checking out our blog! This is all new territory to me and so it may take some time for me to get all the kinks worked out. So it may take a few weeks for us to get everything worked out. Thank you for your prayers and support!

Check who's munching! Here's a sunflower that was growing in our back yard. We have several of these growing out back. Farmers grow sunflowers by the fields here. What a beautiful sight to see! God has done an awesome job of clothing this earth with His handiwork.

This is our "Gaurdian Angel"! Just a joke, but God uses her on patrol. We inherited her from the Potteigers and she's great. Her name is Rita. The kids love her and she is an answer to prayer. Our kids asked for a dog when we were in Russia and I told them, NO! I said, as long as we live in an apartment building, without a yard, we are not getting a dog. If your kids start praying, you better watch out. We also pray for her almost every day that God would protect her.
God bless!
